As mentioned, the 4Runner is all-new from the ground up. It rides on the Toyota New Global Architecture body-on-frame (TNGA-F), the base that underpins the Tacoma, Land Cruiser, Tundra, and Sequoia. The platform features a high-strength boxed steel-ladder frame and is equipped with a multi-link coil rear and double-wishbone front suspension.

So, what does this mean for you? Simply put, the TNGA-F is designed to support everything from full-size, comfort-focused SUVs (like the Sequoia) to the heavy-duty Tundra and Land Cruiser. You’re getting a solid mix of strength, smooth road manners, and comfort, even when riding in the available third row.
