1. Newark Earthworks

Did you know Heath is the home of the world's largest geometric circle enclosures? Newark Earthworks is the state's official prehistoric monument, as well as a National Historic Landmark. Explore these wonders on your own (no stepping on them, please) or take a guided tour, offered at 12:30 p.m. on the first Friday of each month from April through December.

You can visit the Newark Earthworks free of charge from dawn to dusk each day. It's located at 455 Hebron Road in Heath.

2. Davis-Shai House

Another historic landmark here in Heath is the Davis-Shai House, once a private residence and now open to the public as an event space and museum, where you can stroll through the expansive grounds and gardens. 4. Hoback Park

Another go-to for us on a free day, Hoback Park covers 20 acres including the town's Little League fields. It also features a covered picnic shelter for comfortable gatherings, a playground, restrooms, and a basketball court. You can also bring a kayak or canoe since Hoback Park provides an access point to the South Fork Licking River. The park is located at 42 Dorsey Mill Road East in Heath.

5. Heath City Water Park

This summer spot provides an awesome way to stay cool on a hot day. Open since 1971, the Heath City Water Park has been newly renovated with lots of fun activities for all ages. It features a sprayground, a 5,500-square-foot water playground, a lazy river, and four giant water slides. You can also enjoy the Olympic size swimming pool, diving tank, and learning tank.

Heath City Water Park is open Friday through Monday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at 1287 Hebron Road. Daily admission costs $10 for those taller than 52 inches, $7 for shorter people and seniors, and $2 for babies up to age 1.
