2023 Toyota Corolla

After removing a few of the lower trims, Toyota now manufactures the 2023 Corolla in only three trims: LE, SE, and XSE. For the 2023 model year, the automaker made a few tweaks to the Corolla's exterior that affect its headlights, grille, and rear fascia. It also has stylish LED signature lighting. The base trim includes 16-inch steel wheels, while others have 18-inch alloy wheels and a sunroof. Choosing the Apex Edition adds a sportier appearance with a sport mesh black grille, rear spoiler, and unique wheels.

Toyota also updated the engine options for the 2023 Corolla, making the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine the standard choice. This engine, which was formerly an optional selection, produces 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. It replaces the old 1.8-liter engine four-cylinder engine. The new engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission, instead of the available six-speed manual transmission, that sends power to the front wheels.

All 2023 Corolla models are enjoyable to drive, offering plenty of stability when you're rounding corners and maneuvering through tight spaces. With this new engine, Toyota claims that the 2023 Corolla achieves zero-to-60 mph in about eight seconds, a full two seconds faster than the previous year's model.

Regardless of the 2023 Toyota Corolla's body style, it fits five people comfortably. Outward visibility is excellent, and the front-row occupants have plenty of headroom and legroom. The sedan's trunk has 13.1 cubic feet of space, while the hatchback boasts 17.8 cubic feet. You can fold down the rear seats to stow longer items. Its infotainment system also received an update for the 2023 model year. All trims have the same 8-inch touchscreen display, which is mounted on the center of the dashboard so you can easily access the features. You can also say "Hey Toyota" to have the virtual assistant do things for you. Other standard features include HD and satellite radio, Bluetooth, four USB ports, navigation, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. You can also add wireless smartphone charging.

Toyota knows how paramount safety is to you and your travelers, which is why the automaker outfitted every 2023 Corolla with almost a dozen standard driver-assistance features. Many of these features are found on the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 Suite and include forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. It also includes a rear-seat reminder, which alerts you to check the rear seats for small animals and children before exiting. Rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring are add-on safety features.
